In Konar, a small village in Chuvashia, both the old and the young used to graze cows. The children played, lit bonfires, told stories, and the adults discussed the news. Uncle Mikula was among them, too. It was not so easy for him to chase his cow at his age, so he asked the children to help. They agreed, but not always willingly. Mikula came up with an idea to reward the kids with tales. Then helpers did not lack, and every evening the children were waiting for new stories.
