На протяжении всей книги я использую термины «экономика данных», «экономика слежки», «капитализм слежки» и «общество слежки» почти как синонимы. Теоретически мы могли бы иметь экономику данных, исключающую персональные данные. Мы могли бы торговать данными, которые не касаются личных вопросов. Но на момент написания книги люди, говоря об экономике данных, часто имеют в виду торговлю персональными данными, поэтому я использую термин «экономика данных» как сокращение для «экономики персональных данных».
