The fact, however, that a number of regrettable incidents are supposed to have taken place in Lincoln’s Inn must not be interpreted as any reflection on the many and reputable firms who practise there: nor must any mention of the officials or functionaries of that Inn be taken as a reference to the present holders of those offices.”
