1. Chapter 45. Mystical Unity of the Assembly
1. You ask: “From where is this great joy I have on account of the wisdom that I spread in all places, that it is greater in my mouth, at the time I express it than at the time when it lies in my heart?” You yourself are in joy because of it, but the other who hears it from you also rejoices on its account and is enlightened by it, he gains through it an enduring power. The wisdom which the man shares, speaking it form his heart, ever increases more and more; its greatness and its glory greatly increases at the time when the beauty and the brightness of the Word are revealed to the inner eye of the hearer, while you, yourself, marvel over what you utter.
2. This is why I say to you, my brothers and my beloved: “Take trouble, exert yourselves and preach to the Souls to grasp the hour to themselves while there is time for their repentance and to do good while there is time, before the Gate is closed and the Souls are turned back from before the Gate of Life and become share and property of the Enemy. The glory, victory, and good are greater for the preacher building the Assembly than that of the brother who goes into his own heart and shuts himself off alone and builds only himself.”
3. He who communes with Hearers who are in the Knowledge and helps them, he surpasses all the kingdoms of the world because all such kingdoms do not know God’s Truth since they were established by the desires of the world and are busy with the making of profit. So for this reason must he give alms to the Elect and commune with them always; He gives it to the Rukha d’Kudsha (Spirit of holiness) who dwells in them, and in turn the Rukha d’Kudsha will grant his (‘his’ and ‘her’ is used interchangeably) grace before the true Father, and the Father of Truth shall in turn repay this loan on the last day. For it is the Rukha d’Kudsha himself who dwells in these Saints.
4. We too, my beloved, let us rejoice in this joy, rest in this rest from everlasting to everlasting; the whole dawning of the Light wherein the Celestial Beings rejoice, the blossoms of beauty which never fades, these are exactly the flesh and blood of Isho! O, Isho, you are the living Vine, the Son of the True Vine; give us to drink living Wine form your Vine. You invite us, you have brought forth for us a new Wine; those who drink your Wine, their heart rejoices over it, they become intoxicated with your love and gladness is spread over their bosoms; they think of Those above and arm to fight against the evil Dragon. The Vine is the Assembly, we are the branches laden with fruit; again, the Wine-press is the Wisdom, God’s Chosen Ones (the Elect), the sojourners; O Soul, you are the five-branched Vine which is the food of the Celestial Beings, the nourishment of the Angels!
5. The Assembly is a garland for which they gather in every corner; we gather in the blossoms daily and weave a royal garland and give it all the Saints. Lilies of majestic colour, roses of varying shades, let us put them with one another; holy hearts, holy minds, let us build into an Assembly! It is a New King who comes, let us build also a new house! The new house is the New Man and the New King is the Light-Mind, the ruler of the Assembly! Prepare the anchor and let us anchor ourselves to the Love of the Father, to the haven of peace, to compassion, to kindliness; let us anchor ourselves, let us anchor ourselves to love for God and love for men! Isho is a Ship, blessed are we when we sail upon Him!

The Messengers of the Light, glorious and kindly let them stand by this true Religion, and guard, keep and preserve it in its purity! And with the Shield of Light, and the Buckler of the faithful, and the efficient Spear may they repel and keep afar all the enemies of Righteousness until the end of time! So may it be! May new blessing come from God, Zurvan a new reform upon the spirits of this world, so that He may accept our holy Religion.

Chapter 47. The Glorious Future of the Living Truth
1. If you strengthen yourselves and hold to one another and in unity stand on this Living Truth that has been visible to you, then all of you, from small to great, can conquer the Sin which opposes you. But if you divide on this Truth what may not happen? You will be both split up by it and also subdued under Sin’s hand, and you will be humbled also under all Powers that oppose you.
2. My brothers, let us purify ourselves from all pollutions, for we do not know the hour when the Bridegroom shall summon us and we shall inherit the Kingdom. The world shall be full of glory, the whole earth shall contain the righteous: those of the land shall dwell in peace, there being, henceforth, no Rebel any more, no name of sin which shall again be uttered; those rich in Light shall rejoice on every side without anything of grief.
3. Then the temples of this world’s deities shall become dwellings of the Elect, and the holy Assembly of the congregation shall greatly increase – they shall sit in the palaces of kings and rulers; the assemblies and the houses of the Hearers shall be like schools of instruction; you will find them singing psalms and hymns, the little girls and boys equally learning to write while singing psalms and reading. Always it is the voice of the Righteousness that shall speak out in the name of prayer; then shall the daily wickedness cease among them. At that time they shall fulfil all the Commandments, small and great, exactly as they were written. There shall be love dwelling in all their hearts; the Elect shall love one other, and no one shall ever think of wickedness; brother shall look at brother, sister at sister, with a friendly expression, unlike how the people of the world look upon each other.

Затем храмы богов этого мира станут жилищами монахов, и святая церковь очень возрастет - они будут сидеть во дворцах царей и правителей; церкви и дома слушателей будут как школы; они будут петь псалмы и песни, девочки и мальчики будут одинаково учиться писать, петь и читать. Chapter 48. The Fall of the Soul
1. The Soul says: “I am the Love (Vohumanah the Good Mind) of the Father being the Robe that clothes you; I was a Prince wearing a crown among the Kings; I knew not how to fight, belonging to the City of the Celestial Beings. From the time that the Hated One cast an evil eye on my kingdom, I left my Father’s resting, I came and I gave myself to death for them. I armed myself, I came out with my first Aeon; he went out and I fought; he came in and protected me. You agreed with me at the time, saying: “If victorious you shall receive your garland!” I conquered in the first battle, but yet another struggle arose for me. I put on error and oblivion; I forgot my being and race and kinsfolk, and not knowing the door of the place of prayer to Him and invoking Him – I became an enemy to my Father, I was made to drink the cup of madness. I was made to rebel against my own Self. The Powers and the Authorities entered, they armed themselves against me.

Chapter 49. The Body is a Prison for the Soul
1. Ever since they bound me in the flesh I forgot my divinity; like a bird in a snare, so too am I while in the body of death, the dwelling of the robbers, over which everyone has wept. The Mind itself is great and exalted, but it becomes crooked and petty due to this small, contemptible body, causing me to be dull and drugged and to lose all my senses. I am not sick at heart over the bodies, but over the treasure of the Living Ones that is lodged in them, for they are called the slaves of the flesh of death.
2. The body prevents the Soul from rising; it is a prison and a heavy penalty for the Soul; it is the gateway of all the hells and the rebirths in the lower astral realms. While we are in the body we are far from God, sojourning in the earth, rest has not overtaken us because we are lodged in it. There is none who can boast while he has still an hour in this prison, there is none who can be confident while in the midst of the sea and he has not yet reached port, for he does not know the hour when the storm will rise against him.
3. The care of my wretched body has intoxicated me with its drunkenness; many are the pains I have endured while housed in this dark body – this body that we wear is the product of the Darkness. It is like a palace for the devil and the land of demons; it is also like a dense forest, a marsh of weeds and rushes, where all evil birds and beasts associate, and venomous insects, lizards, and vipers secretly gather.
4. Sin raised this body out of the five bodies of the Darkness and organized it, but it derived its Soul from the five Bright Celestial Beings and bound it in the five limbs of the body. He it was who, having completed such a den and dwelling as this, snared and grabbed up the Light Natures, and hid himself behind while the demons preached to the Soul and continually led it to all evil deeds and all sins of desire.
5. But in vain does it disturb the everlasting King of Nirvana (perfection, everlasting bliss); it will at last be burned and shut up in the eternal dungeon, for the Soul that is therein is the First Man, and the First Man who conquered in the Land of Darkness; it is he who today is the Spiritual Advocate – this whole universe, above and below, is in the image of the human body of flesh.
6. With tears I now humbly pray and implore that I may leave this poisonous fiery sea of my fleshly body, wherein the surging waves and foaming billows never cease for a moment and sea-monsters rise and dive again to swallow ships and boats. My Lord Isho, do not abandon me; be an Evoker of Light and blind them until I pass them by! My true Light, illumine me within, then; lift me, for I have fallen down, and give me a hand to the Height of you. Be not far from me, O great Physician with the medicines of life. Heal me of the grievous wound of lawlessness! See, I have shown my wounds it is yours to give your cures.

6. Chapter 50. The Awakener’s Call
1. I heard the cry of a Physician (Savior), the voice of an Exorcist coming to me: “Awake, bright Soul, from the drunken sleep wherein you have fallen! O man in whose hands there is wealth, why are you slumbering in this sleep? Why will you not rise early to the Great Lives, before the Accuser has come forth and sat down beside the Judge and he hears the word of the Accuser and you are taken away and flogged? The Celestial Beings are spread over the whole land so that they may answer any call. O my brothers, lift up your eyes to the land of Light; you shall see the Friend of the Righteous standing beyond this world, you shall see the Great of Glories (Abba d’Rabbuta, Zurvan) from whom every Soul has come forth in the beginning, and they shall also return to the Light and ascend to it in the end.”
2. The Great Physician says: “O Soul, where are you from? You are from on high, you are a stranger to the world, sojourner for people on the earth; on high you have your houses, your tents of joy! You are an alien here, housed in a defiled body of the earth! The days of your life flee away from you; why do you vainly waste your eagerness on earthly things and put behind you all those of heaven? You have spent your life sunk in the anxieties and cares of the world, wearing yourself out only by means of pains and grieves! For how many days, then, do you ignore what you do in ignorance, while you toil all your time to nourish your bodies – yet you have not worried, O poor one, in what way you may be saved! You weep and shed tears for a son or a friend when he dies; yet the thought of your own departure does not enter your heart! You have made the world a harp for yourself, continually making music!”
3. The Physician says: “O Soul, you are the sheep that has wandered in the desert; your Father (the Living Spirit) seeks you, you Shepherd looks for you; O despised Noble, your King searches after you! Where are your angel garments, your robes that do not age? Where are your bright garlands, your crowns that do not fall? Who has changed for you your fair beauty, the fashion of your kinsmen, the seal of your Fathers? Move yourself, O Soul watching in the enduring chains, and remember the ascent into the joyful Air for a fatal lure is the sweetness of this flesh, the body full of darkness! Drink of the water of memory, thrown away the forgetfulness! The wounded one who desires healing, let him come to the Physician! O Soul, do not forget your Self, nor faint, nor eat out your heart! See, the Ships (the Moon and the Sun) are anchored for you, the Ferries are in the harbor; take your cargo aboard and sail away to your homes!”

Chapter 51. Death is Inevitable
1. Everything that happens to man, be it wealth or even poverty, his sickness and his health, it happens to him through the sign of the Zodiac and the Star in which he was born. The temporal contacts of a family, how far do they differ from that of staying at a traveller’s inn? Crowds of people stop and rest together for a night; in the morning they part and return to their own lands. Man is born a naked shape, and he will die like that; in spite of his love for the body of flesh he must give it up at last; all the material riches and treasures we do not wish to part with will no longer be with us at the end.
2. Take to yourself the words of truth, O men who love God, that the world is nothing, there is no gain at the end of it. Do not be a friend of this beauty that shall be totally destroyed, decayed and melted like snow in the sun. All things of this earthly life are fleeting, they vanish from our sight like fallen rain before the midday sun. Renounce the possessions of the world and embrace the peace of poverty! Maran Mani is a north wind blowing upon us so that we may put out with him and sail to the Land of Light! Come, Souls, to this Ship of the Light!

Chapter 52. The Soul Resolves
1. The sources of the Light and of the Darkness have natures absolutely distinct; I have learned what is the King of Light who is the Tree of Life, and also what is the Darkness which is the Tree of Death; I have put the Law of the Darkness behind me, while I have adopted the Law of the Light. I repent in the presence of the God Majesty of Law (the Holy Judge of Righteousness), I have thrown out of my eyes, this sleep of death which is full of error.
2. When again the evil became worse, I lifted up my eyes to the Land of Light; a Man called down to the world saying: “Blessed is he who who shall know his own Soul!” So I am troubled at heart about my Soul, lest it faint and stray and become even worse. O, my Father, my God, my Saviour, my King, I will be a champion for You, I will, myself, go forth and continue to fight against all that which is unrighteous. O my Maiden, my Beloved, the Living Fire, I shall give myself for You, my body will be given over to death for the sake of Your body, and give my fair beauty for the sake of Your beauty! I will loosen the knot of worldliness, the bond of action will I break; I will lead the one gone astray, heal the long incurable diseases of passion, and open the eyes of humanity to the Wisdom of Light! On every side I will become one who bestows joy on those who have come to sorrow!

Chapter 53. And Appeals for Aid
1. Moving forward toward health, O Rouser of Sleepers and Shaker of the Drowsy, who are the Awakener of the Dead! Moving forward toward health, O Rescuer of the Chained and Physician of the Wounded! Your cures are not of this world, Your healing is from the Land of the Living! Where is the welling of Your mercies that You let me remain long in my appeals? If my voice has reached You then how is it that Your mercy seems delayed? In my desperation I have said “If I have turned towards You a little, I do not know why You have not turned much to me!” I have grown weary of knocking for You; O Doorkeeper, open for me the door; I will not stem my tears, O Mighty One, unless You wipe away my sin. O great Holy One, I am a new and lovely Robe that has been wholly soiled with filth by the demons; please wash it and cleanse it with the water of the righteous Dharma (Law, Teaching), so that I may attain the sublime body of joy and pure limbs!
2. I am a shining Lamb, son of the great Holy One, and with streaming tears and crying I implore You for help in my sufferings. The jackals, the wolves, and many savage beasts have seized me suddenly and carried me away from Your Branch of the Good Light. Grant, O God, great mercy: please take me in adoption, put me among the soft and gentle Flocks of the Light, and admit me to the hills and woods of the Holy Law, roaming and sauntering always fearless on the fair mountains!
3. Moving forward toward health, True Word, Powerful Lamp of the Great Light, my True Guardian, First-born of the Father of the Lights, watch over me. While I am in the Midst of the Sea, O Isho, be a guide to me! Do not abandon us lest the waves ravish us; when I utter Your Name over the Sea it stills the waves! Guide my sense of sight lest they give an evil glance, guide my ears lest they hear a vain word, guide my nostrils lest they smell the odour of desire, guide my mouth lest it utter slander, guide for me my hands lest they minister to the Adversary, guide for me my heart that it does no evil, guide my spirit for me while it is in the midst of the storm-tossed Sea, guide my New Man while it wears the mighty Statue, guide my feet lest they walk in the pathways of error, and guide my Soul that it be not stained by sin!
4. O Tree of the Nature of Life, most high and incomparable King of Wondrous Medicine, the ever-thriving precious Tree whose fruits are always fresh with sweet dew (immortality) that never fades – whoever eats them will for ever leave the stream of birth and death (samsara)– while its fragrant perfume spreads around the world; send down the swelling rush of the Great Law to fertilise the ground of my Soul and permit the flowers and fruits of my Soul to flourish! Teach me the Way to Life through your Blessed and Holy Commandments, and I shall love and observe them and come to You rejoicing, permit me to dwell in Your Aeons, Your bride-chambers of Light. This is the Way, O Lord, this is the Way to Life.

2. Я - сияющий ягненок, сын великого святого, с потоками слез и рыданий умоляю тебя о помощи в моих страданиях. Шакалы, волки и многие дикие звери внезапно на меня напали и утащили меня от ветви доброго света. Дай же, Господи, великое милосердие: прими меня в род свой, поставь меня между мягких и нежных снежинок света, и пусти меня к холмам и лесам святого закона, в которых бродят и гуляют дети света без страха среди прекрасных гор.
3. Я выздоравливаю, истинное слово, могучая лампа великого света, истинный хранитель, перворожденный отца света, защити меня. Когда я посреди моря, о Ишо, руководи мной. Не оставь нас, чтобы волны нас не поглотили; когда я произношу имя твое над морем, оно успокаивает волны. О дерево природы жизни, высокий и несравненный царь удивительного исцеления, вечно цветущее дерево жизни, чьи плоды всегда свежие от сладкой росы, которая никогда не вянет - кто вкусит от них, навсегда покинет поток рождения и смерти - и прекрасный аромат его распространяется по всей земле; пошли нарастающий поток великого закона, который оплодотворит землю моей души и от него расцветут цветы и вырастут добрые плоды. Обучи меня дороге жизни через твои святые и благословенные заповеди, и я полюблю и выполню их и приду к тебе в радости, разреши мне поселиться в твоих эонах, в свадебных комнатах света. Такова, Господи дорога, такова дорога к жизни.
Chapter 54. The Way to Life
1. In these three things is Perfection found: In the Commandments and the Wisdom and the Love, for all the people of God attain perfection through these. For this reason let us pray and implore God who has chosen us that He may make us perfect in His Way.
2. Keep yourselves far from magical arts and sorceries of the Darkness, for he who shall learn them and practice them and realize them, finally where the King of those of the Darkness shall be bound with his Powers, they shall bind also in that place the soul of him who practices them and walk in such arts of the Error.
3. With wisdom and skill strengthen yourselves around the gates (senses and organs) of the body lest the Sin (Darkness) that dwells in the body prevail over you and bear away your Light from you and extinguish it in many places and shatter it everywhere in every way. So then let not this be allowed to happen to you, but be a watchful people and strong in your faith in the Truth. Be prepared from everything to everything, so that your rest and your end may be with Him for whose Sign and Hope you watch!
4. Be ever firm and strong in keeping the Precepts and the Rites; give alms and practice fasting, worship, praise and recitation. Sing and chant the words of the Righteous Law without break or stop, read and study eagerly, discriminate with your wisdom and accept the Pure Commands. Always keep before you the Three Pillars of the Holy Faith: Scripture, Tradition and Revelation. Always be clean and pure in the deeds of the body, mouth and mind; also earnestly practise kindly deeds, be gentle and amiable, bear humiliations, and purify all your roots. Follow good rules and habits and determine to rest your minds in the Place of Liberation; leap with joy and stand firm by the Religion of Righteousness!
5. All these are the remedies for the Light-Bodies; if you do these things and sleep not, you shall go up and you shall see the Land of Light. If indeed you truly fast, you shall be taken into the Garden of Light; if your eyes do not make an evil glance, you shall be seated under the shade of the Garden of Light; if your mouth speaks truly, the Divine Beings shall show you their various images; if your hands are free from violence, the pleading of your speech shall be heard; if your heart stands firm, they will lift you up and stand you in their midst; if your feet walk in the Way of Truth, they will make you one of them.

Всегда будьте чистыми и святыми во всех делах тела, рта и ума; искренне совершайте добрые дела, будьте добрыми и приветливыми, выносите унижения, и очищайте все свои корни. Следуйте добрым правилам и привычкам и определите свои умы для отдыха во дворце освобождения; прыгайте от радости и стойте прямо в религии справедливости.
5. Вот лекарства светлых ангелов; если вы делаете это и не засыпаете, вы подниметесь и увидите страну света. Если вы истинно поститесь, вас возьмут в сады света; если от ваших глаз не исходит злой взгляд, вы будете сидеть в тени сада света; если ваш рот говорит правду, боги покажут вам их различные формы; если ваши руки свободны от насилия, будет услышана жалоба ваших речей; если ваше сердце стоит крепко, они поднимут вас и поставят вас посреди себя; если ваши ноги ходят путями правды, они сделают вас одним из них.
Chapter 55. Courage and Suffering
1. All the blessed ones who have ever existed have borne these pains, down to the Glorious One, the beloved Maran (our Lord) Isho our Lord; every man of God who has ever existed, all genders, all have suffered, down to the Glorious One, the Messenger Mani. Even Maran Mani himself was given the Cup to drink, he took the likeness of them all, fulfilling all their signs. How many of his disciples also received the same as their fathers! My brothers, we too have our share of sufferings, we shall join with them in the suffering and rest in their!
2. It is good for us to be silent; let us not think in our heart that our God is forgetful of us, for before us, all hardships will disappear like gloomy shadows before the glorious Sun. The Covenant of our Father, the profit and the loss, is shared among us; we are true sons and daughters, the heirs of their fathers.
3. There is nothing at all that is free from suffering which will rest at its end; even the very seed that is sown finds no way to live unless it dies, but through its death it lives and gives life also. Let us, too, strengthen ourselves, my brothers, for see, the Rest has come to us that we may receive the blessing of all these things we have spoken of, and dwell together in the glorious Land of the Light! For there is no hater, no enemy, henceforth, but it is peace and joy and life for evermore! Let the bride-chamber keep festival, for the Bridegroom is at hand!

2. Хорошо нам молчать; не подумаем в сердцах наших, что Бог наш забыл нас, ведь перед нами исчезнут все трудности как тени и туманы исчезают перед славным Солнцем. Наследие отца нашего, прибыль и убыток, разделено между нами; и мы - истинные наследники отцов наших.
3. Нет ничего, свободного от страдания, которое в конце успокоится; даже посеянное семя не находит дороги к жизни, пока не умрет, но через смерть свою оно живет и дает жизнь. Да укрепим и мы себя, братья, ведь смотрите, покой пришел к нам, чтобы мы могли получить благословение от всего того, о чем мы говорили, и жить вместе в славной стране света. Ведь там нет ненависти, нет врагов, но там - мир и радость и жизнь навеки. Пусть же свадьба веселится, ведь жених уже у дверей16.
Chapter 56. Fluctuating Moods
1. Many are the ships that have gone down after they came near to anchoring at the shore; plenty of houses have fallen after the parapet had been reached! So too is it with this, my brothers: there is a Soul that will fight at first, and then the storm rises against him and the waves seize on him.
2. Sin arouses from time to time its disorders in the body; there is a time when Sin lifts itself up in its foolishness, annoys the understanding, embarrasses the man’s wisdom and good sense, causes the truth to be confused in him causing doubt, and then he utters stupid words. The Powers of Light give the Enmity a chance to offend, and they work their will for a while, and then they are seized.
3. At the time when the body is disturbed, you are disturbed by means of the aspects of the lower ones, the limbs which enter you in the food and the eating. Again at the time when the higher ones are favorable to you and also the food that entered you is refined and clean, both overflowing with Light and Life, while also the dregs in it are few and the badness in it meagre, your heart is then found steady in its place, while your thought is pacified from the confusion. Then you say: “My wisdom and the lecturing are sweet to me while my heart is drawn towards the fasting in which I fast; I do not wish to give up praying, nor do I desist from repeating psalms; I welcome my brothers to me, kindly because I live in steady discipline, my soul itself rejoicing in the Wisdom and the True Knowledge, while my thoughts, too, are cheerful, my body being light upon me, and I am restful in happiness of mind!”

1. Многие корабли разбились и не встали на якорь у берега; многие дома рухнули, не успев достроиться до крыши. Также и с вами, братья: есть душа, которая начнет сражаться, и затем поднимется буря против нее и волны ее охватят.
2. Время от времени зло встает и устраивает в теле беспорядок; бывает время, когда зло поднимается в своей глупости, мешает пониманию, смущает знание и здравый рассудок, приводит истину в расстройство от сомнений, и человек произносит глупые слова. Силы света дают врагу возможность напасть, и некоторое время творят свою волю, а потом бывают захвачены.
3. В то время, когда тело обеспокоено, вас беспокоят части нижних, который входят через еду и пищу. В то же время, когда высшие к вам благосклонны, и пища, которая в вас входит, чиста и очищена, переполнена светом и жизнью, и осадок в ней небольшой и злоба в ней недостаточна, сердце ваше упорно в его месте, а мысль ваша успокоена от расстройства. Тогда вы говорите: “мое знание и чтение прекрасны, и сердце мое направилось к посту, в котором я пощусь; я не желаю оставлять молитвы и не уклоняюсь от повторения песен; я приветствую своих братьев по-доброму, потому что живу в упорной дисциплине, душа моя радуется в гнозисе и истинном знании, и мысли мои также приветливы, тело мое стало светом надо мною, и я покоюсь в счастливом разуме”.
Chapter 57. Fasting
1. “What shall I do with this lion that is always roaring? (desire, greed) What shall I do with this seven-headed serpent? (many passions)” Adopt for yourself the practice of Fasting and you shall strangle this lion, as well as chastity and you shall slay this serpent! This is the work of keeping a fast, for seven Angels are born from the fast of every one of the Elect. Those who have no power to fast daily, they too may fast on Sunday, and they also share in the deeds and the Fasting of the Saints by means of their faith and their alms.
2. Just as finally the Fire swallows this world with mighty wrath and relishes it, even so does this fire that is in the body swallow the outer fire that comes to it in fruit and food and enjoys it. The fire that dwells in the body, its work is eating and drinking, but the Soul thirsts continually for the Word of God. A man must not put out his hand and hurt this Living Cross (the Soul imprisoned in Matter) recklessly and greedily, but when you have to eat it, do not eat it recklessly and revelling in gluttony and greed, but eat it only when in great hunger and drink it only when in great thirst, and from it derive nourishment for your bodies.

2. Также как в конце огонь поглотит этот мир с сильным гневом и сожжет его до конца, также и тот огонь, что в теле, поглощает внешний огонь, который приходит с фруктами и едой и наслаждается им. Огонь, который живет в теле, его работа - есть и пить, но душа постоянно жаждет слова Божия. Не должен человек класть свою руку на Живой Крест и повреждать его жадно и неосторожно, но когда вам приходится есть его, не поедайте неосторожно и наедаясь в жадности и обжорстве, но поедайте его только в великом голоде и пейте только в великой жажде, и от него произойдет питание для ваших тел17.
Chapter 58. Prayer
1. Now when the man washes in the flowing water or something else he stands up; likewise when he prays he turns toward the greater Luminary, also standing. Now as for the first prayer, it is at sunrise, and the second prayer between noon and sunset, and the night prayer three hours after that. He who recites a psalm is like those who weave a beautiful garland, while those who answer after him are like those who put roses in his hands. For this reason let us pray, let us sing and recite together, let us set before us joy, the sign of God, and let us do away with grief, which is the sign of the Darkness!

1. Когда человек омывается в проточной воде или чем-то подобном, он стоит; и когда он молится, то обращается к великому светильнику, тоже стоя. Первая молитва совершается на рассвете, вторая - между полднем и закатом, а ночная молитва - через три часа после этого. Тот, кто читает псалмы подобен тому, кто ткет прекрасную гирлянду, а тот, кто отвечает за ним - тому, кто кладет розы в его руки. Chapter 59. Holy Poverty and Alms-giving
1. My brothers, let us live in poverty, and be poor in the body but rich in the spirit; and let us resemble the poor making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing the all things. What shall we do with gold and silver? Let us love God; His Light is power, His Wisdom the wise one!
2. The living Alms receives to itself affliction for a while, and then rest comes to it for evermore through the Saints. Moreover, at the time when these Alms reach the Holy Assembly they are saved thereby and are purified and are rested by its means; they come out thereby and go to the God of Truth in whose name they have been given. So again it is the Holy Assembly which is the resting-place for all these Alms that rest therein; it is this alone that becomes for them a door and a vehicle (way) to the Land of Rest.

Итак, церковь - место отдыха для всех подаяний, которые в ней покоятся; она одна становится для них дверью и колесницей в страну покоя.
Chapter 60. True Harmlessness
1. The word that wounds is this: When a man speaks a word for the sake of murdering another a man or for the sake of the killing of beasts or trees unnecessarily, and the Cross of Light, the lying word, and that of anger and that of fury, or a corrupt and viciously obscene word, or a quarrelsome word that one flings at his brother – this is the hurtful word. For this is Anger, that you find occasion to desire an evil deed wherein there is sin.
2. It is proper for man to look on the ground at the time when he walks on a road, lest he tread on the Cross of Light and destroy the good plants (destroying plants that could have been used as a source of food); it is especially for the beast, lest he tread on it and kill it with his foot. But it is I who with a loud voice say to you that every man of the righteous Elect who walks on a path for the sake of God’s work, or if he walks on the earth, even when he crushes with the sole of his foot the Cross of Light, he has no sin therein, but his whole path is a garland and a palm-leaf, because he does not walk in his own desire, nor does he run for the sake of gain and frivolous things when he treads on the earth and The Cross of Light. It shall not bear resentment against you with hatred and anger, for it knows that you walk on it for rest and healing, to preach for it and to reveal its mysteries.

Надлежит человеку смотреть на землю, когда он идет по дороге, чтобы не наступить на крест света и не разрушить добрые растения; и особенно животных, чтобы не наступить на них и не убить их своими ногами. Но я громким голосом говорю вам, что каждый человек из праведных монахов, который идет по тропе на дело Божие, или просто по земле, даже если он раздавит крест света своими ногами, в этом нет зла, но весь путь его - гирлянда и пальмовый лист, потому что он не идет по своему собственному желанию и не бежит он для выгоды или разврата, когда ступает по земле и по кресту света. Не будет крест света возмущаться против тебя с гневом и ненавистью, но он знает, что ты идешь по нему для покоя и исцеления, для проповеди за него и для открытия его тайн18.
Chapter 61. A Sure Path
1. Pity and Sincerity (Mercy and Humane Treatment) are, for all the Saints of the past and also of the future, the essential base and root of brightness, the wonderful Gate that lets them see everywhere; they are also the Straight Path one walks upon, keeping to one side the length of the great sea of troubles in the Three Worlds. Among the many thousands of people rarely is even one found to walk in this Path! Were there any who devoted themselves thereto, thanks to this Path they would be born in the Pure Land, they would free and save themselves from penalties, and would, at last, without fear, rejoice for evermore in calmness and tranquility.

1. Милосердие и искренность для всех святых прошлого и будущего - главная основа и корень сияния, чудесные ворота, через которые они смотрят повсюду; они также - прямой путь, по которому идут по длинному берегу великого моря печали в трех мирах. Между многими тысячами людей редко находится хоть один, кто идет по этому пути. И если хоть кто-то посвятит себя ему, благодаря этому пути он родится в чистой земле, он освободится и спасется от наказания за зло, и в конце без страха возвеселится навеки в тишине и спокойствии.
Chapter 62. Sincerity of Heart
1. Blessed is the man whose heart does not condemn him; the faithful man of God gives his judgment to himself alone. If by some chance you would give a lesson to others do it yourself before you have given it. Do not adorn yourself outwardly and be found rotten in your inward parts; do not strive after pleasing men and then become an enemy to God; do not give rest to your body and then pay the penalty with your Soul.
2. Mar Mani says: “My brothers, love me with your heart, do not please me with your lips alone; the children of the lip are blotted out, the children of the heart remain! Do not be like the pomegranate whose rind is brightly colored on the outside while it is rotting on the inside; do not be like the tombs of corpses which are indeed whitewashed but are inside full of carrion; do not be like horse saddles, for outside, indeed, they wear the fabrics from Babylon (luxurious cloth) while inside they are full of straw! For my sake, be like a jar of wine, placed firmly on its stand, for while the outside is a piece of earthenware, there is a fragrant wine inside!”

Chapter 63. The Work of the Light-Mind
1. The Light-Mind, who is the Awakener of those who sleep, the Gatherer in of those who are scattered abroad, is the Father of all the Messengers, who chooses all the assemblies. The Physician of the Souls, he is the Light-Mind, and this is the New Man. The caustic medicines are the Precepts, while the cooling medicines are the forgiveness of sins – he who would be healed, see, of two kinds are the medicines of Life!
2. There is a mighty power dwelling in this body; it is very terrible with great cunning wisdom until the Light-Mind finds how to subdue this body and to drive it according to his will. Then the Light-Mind comes and finds the Soul a captive in the flesh; he frees the soul’s limbs of Sin, and those he chains.
3. Because he loathed the five craggy and dangerous earths of the Darkness, he flattened and overwhelmed them; he began by removing the brambles and all the poisonous weeds, and burned them in fire. Then, being armed with the sharp Axe of Wisdom, the Messenger of the Light destroyed the five kinds of poisonous trees of death.
4. He took his own precious Trees of Life of five kinds, shining, pure and perfect, and he planted them in the soils of the First Nature. He sprinkled these precious Trees with the water of Immortality, and they produced fruits which give deathlessness.
5. He arranges the limbs of the Soul, builds them, polishes them, and organizes them into a New Man, a Son of Righteousness. He evoked the Aeons of Peace in whom there is no waning and decrease; he establishes treasuries of Life, and in them set up Living Images which never perish; then over the five kinds of precious luminous terraces he lit five precious Bright Lamps that last forever.
6. The New Man becomes King through his love, his faith, his perfection, his patience and through his wisdom. His King, again, who is the Light-Mind, is King over the All; he reigns over it according to his will. So too, the Light-Mind comes and shines in the world and chooses the holy Assembly, and parts the Light from the Darkness and separates the Truth from Lawlessness. O Mind that conquers Matter, spread your mercy over my spirit!

Chapter 64. Five Kinds of Masters
1. Sometimes the soldiers of the Old Man are defeated; then the religious thought of the Kindly Light enters the City of the wonderful Pure Thought; in the stately Halls found there it places a Seat for the Law and installs itself there. When the Kindly Light moves in the City of Thought, it should be known that this Master preaches the Right Law wonderfully; he delights in speech about the Three Eternals (Light, Power, Wisdom) and the Five Greatnesses of the Great Light and he fully develops all thoughts by means of his supernatural intuition. In his preaching of the Law he then stresses Pity.
2. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Feeling, this Master is pleased by talk of the bright Palaces of the Sun and Moon, the First Gate of the Kingdom, and he fully develops majestic power; then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Sincerity.
3. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Reflection, this Master delights to speak of Sraosha (divine being in relation to obedience), the great Servant, and by means of his supernatural intuition he fully develops silence. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Contentment.
4. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Intellect, this Master is pleased to speak of the Five Bright Lights, and by means of his supernatural intuition he fully develops [understanding]. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses the Endurance of Wrong.
5. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Reason, it should be known that the Master is pleased to talk to the Messengers of the Light, past, present and future; and with his supernatural intuition he develops the power to be invisible or visible. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Wisdom. So, then, he who is wise in the study of such a Master knows at once in which Realm the Kindly Light is found.

Chapter 65. Exhortation to Spiritual Effort
1. O man of God, you have been set upon the Road; do not fall – for it was the Divine Beings that called unto you; you have been called, do not fail to hear. Look back no more – they do not keep account of what is past, so do not think of what you have forgetfully done. Continually strive to push yourself forward, and God will not turn you away; but if you slack off, you shall receive suffering. Be zealous for God, do not flinch within yourself! Do not prefer the life of this body to the everlasting Life; put the reverential fear of God in your heart, and you shall live without suffering from the pain of past sins. You shall receive comfort and peace. If you have resolved to love Me, then I will put upon you the Robe of Glory and the Garland of Victory, because you have trusted the Truth that has been revealed to you. O how great is the joy that is prepared for the Perfect, the Bride of the King!
2. My brothers, do not slack off in doing good by night and by day, for what the man plants in the field is the same as what he shall reap from that field. I myself left the Land of Light and of eternal Bliss, and for your sakes I have come here, bringing these Trees of Virtue which I would plant in your holy multitude. Each one of you must plant these Trees in his own pure heart, that he may let them thrive and grow tall. If now you would realize in yourselves the pure fruits of the great Incomparable Light, you must welcome all the precious Trees and let them have all they need. Why so? Because, good people, it is by means of the fruits of these Trees you will be able to free yourselves from the Four Afflictions: fear, grief, doubt and supplication, and all embodied beings will be saved from birth and death (samsara) and come at last, ever victorious, into the Realm of unmoving Happiness! He who sows his soul with good seed finds the return again, Eternal Life in the land of the Celestial Beings.
3. See, my beloved, do not be deceived by the forms of the evil ruler, the root of all the erupting wickedness and the camp of every hatred. But protect yourselves from his tricks and his evil ideas that dwell in your body, lest they become toxin within you and ruin your gentleness and lead you from the truth and you stray onto the path of the lie. But be zealous and perfect before the Mind of Truth who has shown himself to you, so that you may be true of heart and be drawn up on high and inherit Life from everlasting to everlasting.
4. Because of all the Souls that arise in human flesh and then vanish are led to the great Aeons of the Light, and there is a resting-place for them which was made by way of the Aeons of the Greatness. As for you, my beloved, try every means that you may become good Pearls and be assigned to Heaven by Light-Diver when he comes to you and leads you in the great Supreme Merchant, your Rest in Life forever more.
5. You are the Sons of the Day and the Sons of the Light; fight yet a little while, O Sons of Light, and you will be victorious; he who evades his burden will lose his bedchamber! Support one another, my brothers, do not flinch at all; we have a God who cares for us, and in His compassion He will help us. It is Isho who has helped me, he will help you, my beloved! Be yourselves Refiners and Saviors for your Soul which abides in every place, that you may lead it to the dwelling of the Father’s of Light in the New Aeon in the Place of Joy!
6. The majority of the people have erred because they look to a distant day, but let us today do good, so that our way may be radiant once again and we may be fearless wherever we may go! Let us not slumber and sleep until Maran takes us up, his garland on his head and his palm leaf in his hand, wearing the Robe of his glory – and all of us enter the bride-chamber and reign together with him.

2. Братья, не уклоняйтесь от делания доброго днем и ночью, ведь что человек посеет на поле, то он и пожнет с того поля. Я сам оставил землю вечного блаженства и для вас я пришел сюда, принеся деревья добра, которые я посажу в вашем собрании святых. Каждый из вас должен посадить эти деревья в своем собственном чистом сердце, и они там разрастутся и вырастут высокими. Если вы получите внутри себя чистые плоды великого и несравненного света, вы должны приветствовать все драгоценные деревья и давать им все, в чем они нуждаются. Почему так? Потому что, добрые люди, из-за плодов этих деревьев вы освободитесь от четырех привязанностей: страха, печали, сомнения и просьбы, и все воплощенные существа будут спасены от рождения и смерти и придут, всегда победоносные, в царство непрестанного счастья. Тот, кто сеет в свою душу доброе семя, получит воздаяние: вечную жизнь в стране богов.
3. Смотрите, возлюбленные, не будьте обмануты формами злого архонта, корнем всей извергающейся злобы и лагерем всей ненависти. Но защищайте себя от его вранья и его злых идей, которые живут в вашем теле, да не станут они ядом внутри вас и да не разрушат ваше благородство и не уведут вас от правды, чтобы вы уклонились на дорогу лжи. Но будьте усердными и совершенными перед добрым разумом, который показал себя вам, чтобы вы могли быть прямыми в сердце и подняться на высоту и наследовать жизнь от века и до века.

Chapter 66. The Soul is Righteous Now
1. Fair is a holy Soul that has taken the spirit of holiness to herself, fair is the Dove that has found a holy Pool; it is Isho that flies into the heart of his faithful one! See, all the Divine Beings rejoice over him because he has become one of them; it is the Soul that is safe from stain who can proceed to the Presence of God.
2. I withdrew from the world, I left my parents behind, I turned to the Lord who is greater than the heavens and the earth. I did not do the will of the body, so I found the Land of Light, I made my way to the City of the Celestial Beings, I communed with the Righteous while I was in the body. For I removed myself from the bitter waters, I came to port even before the sea became stormy. I put off the vain garment of the flesh, being safe and pure; I made the clean feet of my Soul to confidently trample upon it; I stood in line with the Celestial Beings who are clothed with the Savior, for I am a celestial being and a servant of God!

Chapter 67. The Agony of Death
1. Eventually everyone must die; like a shadow of his body he lies down, his material goods remain withheld from him. For some, a thousand demons come, dark foggy demons hover around, the darkness of night presses on the dying, oppression comes to them; sitting on the breast, the demons make them dream.
2. For some, a false, hairy and ageing demoness comes, the hail-cloud is like her in color; provided with hideous brows, her look is like a bloody butcher, her disgusting teats are like a nail in sharpness. A grey cloud rises out of her nose, from her throat ascends black smoke; her breast is wholly compact with a myriad of snakes, her hair is a viper; her finger is altogether sharp and venomous. She seizes on the erring Soul beating on its head, she thrusts it into hell. The demons found in hell seize upon it, the evil demons come, they take it to themselves. There you see many dark spirits, to implore whom when near to death is purposeless.

Chapter 68. The Righteous is Called
1. See, I have safely finished my voyage, my own hour has already come. They summon me: “O Soul, lift up your head and go to your Fatherland!” I depart from your midst and I go away to my true home. I have cleansed myself in the washing (baptism) of immortality in the hands of the Saints; now they summon me to the bride-chambers of the Height, and I will go up clothed in the Robe.
2. I will go up to the Nature of Excellences, I will pass away up to the skies and leave this body on the earth. The trumpet sounds. I hear it! I am being called up to the Immortals! I will throw away my body on the earth from which it was assembled. Ever since my early childhood I have learned to walk in the Path of God; let no one weep for me – neither my brothers nor those who produced me; my true Fathers, those who are from on high, they love my Soul, and they seek after it! The enemy of my Soul is the world, its wealth and the love of it; all life hates godliness. What am I doing while I am in the place of my foes?

Chapter 69. He Comforts His Friends
1. The life and death of everyone is in his own hands – as for us, let us live; what is all the crowd to us? What have we now in common with the world? Arise, let us go to our Aeons! Where are our Light-Crowns that never fall? Let us wear our Garlands that do not fade eternally!
2. The Living Kingdom shall once again appear, the Love of God, the White Dove; the Kingdom is Love, this White Dove – it is not gold and silver, it is not eating and drinking! The Kingdom is Joy and Peace and Rest; see, it is within us; it is outside of us; if we believe in it we shall live therein for evermore! My brothers, come in through this narrow Door and let us comfort one another with the Word of Truth!
3. See, the Bridegroom has come! Where is the Bride who resembles Him? The Bride is the Assembly, the Bridegroom is the Light-Mind; the Bride is the Soul, and Isho is the Bridegroom! If He rises in us, we too shall live in Him; if we believe in Him, we shall transcend death and come to Life.

Chapter 70. And Prays to Help from Isho
1. O great Call who has wakened this soul of mine from its deep slumber, O Merciful filled with mercy, the Savior of those who are His own, I worship you! I have called upon you with an innocent voice because I know you are the Rescuer of Souls! Stretch out your Right Hand to me, and I shall leave the things of the body behind me! Come, I implore you, draw me up out of the hidden place of the dead! Let not the demons frighten me and the Fury with her fearful face, because I have not served the Error but have passed my whole life nourished in your Truth! Now save my soul from this state of life and death!
2. See, my faith stands fast to me; see my alms that I have done in your name; see, my prayers and my zeal beg that I receive grace upon me! A robber was saved upon the cross only because he confessed you; cleanse me from all my sins, for I too have hung upon your Hope! Behold, I am coming out of the body of death; now do I call on you, O Savior: “Come to me in the hour of my need!” Show me your Maiden at the moment of my departure from the All; let me too be worthy to see your Maiden for whose sake I have toiled, and her three Angels also who are with her, who brings all the Gifts of the faithful one! My Holy Father, let me see Your Likeness that I saw before the universe was created, before the Darkness dared to stir up envy against Your Aeons. On that occasion indeed did I become a stranger to my Kingdom; I have cut its root and have come up victoriously on high.
3. O my prayers and my fasts and my virginity which I have perfected in your name, Isho my light, this is the moment of my death when I have need of you! Yoke for me speedily my soaring chariots and my horses – which are my holy fasts, my prayers to God, and my alms giving! Take me swiftly in to the Land of the Glory! O Mighty One, crown me! Take me on your wings, O Eagle, and fly with me to the skies! Put my white Robe upon me, take me in as a gift to your Father!
4. O eternal Victor, I call to you; hear my cry, Compassionate! Let your Members cleanse me, and wash (baptize) me, you, in your holy waters and make me without stain, even as I really am! Behold, the time has drawn near that I should return to my home! You are the Way, you are indeed the Gate of eternal Life, O Son of God, my Savior, who has taught me to wear His holy Precepts! Open to me, O Tree of Life; O Tree of Rest, open to me! Open your essences to me, and I shall gaze on the faces of the Saints! Open to me your halls, for my heart has swooned after your bliss! Open your gardens to me, and my spirit will receive their fragrance!

Chapter 71. Having Always Preferred Him to the World
1. Come, my Savior! Do not abandon me, help even me! I have depended on you, victorious stiller of fear of the death through the Cross! Isho it is you whom I have loved! See, the glorious armour of your Commandment which you did gird yourself, I have put it on my limbs; I have fought against my foes! I have subdued the passions of youth, running in your virtue, O Savior; I have forsaken the defilement of illicit intercourse, I have put upon myself this purity that you wish; the murderous snake, foe of virginity, I have not listened to his laws and his lying words. I have not even tasted the pleasure of the bitter sweet, nor have I meddled with unlawful intercourse of the flesh, for it is a thing that perishes, nor have I permitted the fire of eating and drinking rule over me.
2. Reveal your face (ever abiding presence) to me, O holy and immaculate Radiance, my true gracious Physician! I am your sheep, you are my Shepherd! You walked beside me and delivered me from the destroying wolves; I listened to your words and walked in your laws, I became a stranger in the world for Your Name’s sake, my Lord! Yet you did not leave me in want, for I was given food and drink because of your Name.
3. I have touched the world and I know there is not even a little toe (small part) of life in it. I have wandered over the whole world and witnessed all the things that are therein, and I have seen that all men vainly run about, for they have forgotten the Holy One who came and gave himself to death for them. The strangers with whom I mingled, they never knew me; they tasted my sweetness and wished to keep me with them; I was life to them, but they were like death to me! I tolerated them, and they wore me as a garment upon themselves!
4. My Lord, when I saw these things I took your Hope and strengthened myself upon it, I did not refuse your yoke which you laid upon me, your good Precepts which you gave me, I have fulfilled, my Savior; I did not permit my enemies put out your Lamp of Light! I have despised the world to give life to my Soul, I have forsaken the things of the flesh and been content with those of the Spirit. I have known the Cross of Light that gives life to the universe, I have believed in it that it is my beloved Soul which nourishes everyone, and for this the blind (MV: spiritually blind) are offended, because they are ignorant of it.
5. Since I found my Savior I have walked in His footsteps; never have I in the least hung back, so as to receive this Garland; the joyful trees that blossom are full of fruit I have given you, my husbandman: namely, Prayer, Fasting, Alms, and Love to your children. My Inner Man is like you in his form, my Outer Man receives grace through the Word of Light. I have constantly practiced in your holy Wisdom, which has opened the eyes of my Soul to the light of the Glory and let me see the hidden and revealed things, those of the Abyss and those of the Height!
6. O Mind of Light, the Sun of my heart that gives my Soul the things of the Light, you are my witness that I have no comfort except in you! I have heard every voice, but no other voice except yours has pleased me, for it is you alone whom I have loved from the beginning to the end! Since my childhood it is to you whom I have given thanks; I have forsaken everything – I do not know the day when they vanished. I have left behind my beauty for the sake of your Name, I have stood firm in your Name, O Alone-Born (Self-existing One)! I have accepted your sweet yoke in purity, I have borne your yoke, I have bound my limbs to your Cross; I have made myself pure for you according to my power, O King of Saints! It is you to whom I have given my Soul, for you are the hidden Joy of your children!

Chapter 72. The Bride to Her Spouse
1. Isho, my Light whom I have loved, take me in to your Presence! I have trusted to the knowledge of your Hope which called me to you, take me up to your houses, Isho my Spouse! Pick me ripening on the pleasant bush of the Assembly; I am like a ripened fruit, pure since I was small! I am a Tree in your Orchard of Light; my lamp shines like the Sun; I have lit it, O Spouse, with the good oil of purity.
2. My Bridegroom, Savior, cleanse (baptize) me in your waters that are full of grace; wash me in the waters of immortality of the Column of Glory! I have become divine again as I was at first, I have set myself to please you to the end! Make even me worthy of your holy bride chambers filled with Light, for I have loved your Saints like you, yourself, my Savior!
3. Mar Isho, receive me to your bride chambers, that I may chant with those who sing to you; add me to the number of those who have conquered and have received their garland. Let me rejoice in all the bride chambers, and give to me the crown of the Saints!

Chapter 73. The Reply of Maran
1. As I was saying these things, weeping, the Savior called to me and spoke with me, and my spirit was exceedingly joyful; Isho, the King of the Saints, the true Light of the Faithful, in a sweet voice answered me, saying: “O blessed, righteous man, come forth! Ascend, O Soul and alarm yourself no more; death is vanquished, and the longed-for bliss has now drawn near. I have come, I who will redeem from evil, cure the pain, and make peace in your heart; I shall give you all that you have wished of me, and restore your place in the higher splendor! Do not be Afraid! I am your Higher Self (Manvuhmed / Vohumanah), a security and a seal; you are my body, a garment I have put upon myself in order to terrify the Powers, while I myself am your Light, the original Effulgence! Arise in a joy free from sorrow, and I will lead you! Do not sit in fatal apathy; turn yourself around and see the embodied beings, how in misery the wander and are certainly reborn in all shapes (various types of men)!
2. “I have heard your prayer, O blessed Soul; it is I who will give to you the reward of your good deeds! For in this world you abstained from murder, you had compassion on the lives of all creatures, so that you neither killed them nor ate of their flesh. Comfort yourself, stem your ears, beloved! Good is the profit of your treasure, for you have laid the foundation of your tower upon the Rock of the Anointed, have kindled your lamps with the Oil of Faith; you have cared for the widows, clothed the orphans, endured the persecutions for the sake of the Name of God, the Giver of rewards, the Granter of grace! Your prayers and fasts have become a crown upon you; victory and salvation to you, O garlanded Soul who has fulfilled the wishes of her Father! Now step forward to the fragrant, wonderful Garden where there is eternal joy; come and rest henceforth in the Land of Light, O Soul that loves God!
3. “Fear not, I am your Guide in every place; I will open before you the door in every heaven and cleanse your way in fearlessness and without trembling. I will establish you in strength, clothe you in radiance, and lead you to the place of the blessed regions; there shall I show the beauties of the King of Light, of all the angels and of the Celestial Beings; I shall show you the Father, eternally the Sovereign and lead you up in pure raiment before Him! I will show you the Mother of the Light, and you shall forever be at peace in the praised joy! I am your Light, your beginningless illumination.”

Chapter 74. The Soul Breaks Free
1. When I heard the voice of my Savior, a Power clothed all my limbs; I said to him: “I have received your words, O my Father; stretch out to me now your Right Hand, so that when the seven demons before me see me they may flee far from me!”
2. Then after that the seven frightful demons departed from me, their foul hands being also empty of my blood, their heart being further laden with grief and sorrow because they had been unable to coax me into the nets of pleasure – for I have never been a slave of the wickedness that works outrage. See, I have subdued the Darkness; see, I have put out the fire of the eruptions, their bitter walls I have destroyed, and battered down their gates.

Chapter 75. Deathbed Scenes
1. In the time of his departure, when the Light-Form that appears to everyone about to leave his body, after the example of the Image of the Messenger, comes forth from before him and separates him from the Darkness to the Light, the Higher Self rises out of all embraces. The blessed glorious Man has mysteriously become – in his likeness, in his form, in his love, in his holy Maiden who is the Maiden of Light – the Father’s Soul. This Light-Form pacifies the man by the Kiss and its rest from the fear of the demons that would destroy his body; through its appearance and its image, the heart of the Elect who leaves his body is calmed. At whatever time he dies, thousands of beautiful angelic beings will come to meet him with flowers and a golden chariot, and speak to him saying: “Fear not, righteous Soul!” And his own karma (merit) will come before his face like a divine virgin Princess, immortal and lovely, a flowery wreath upon her heard; she herself will set him on his way.
2. Thus, the God of the Majesty of the Righteous Law, the glorious Deity of Righteousness comes to the Soul with the three Celestial Beings who are He Himself, the great glorious Angels who come with him – the one holding in his hand the prize of victory, the second bringing the Light-Robe, while the third is the same who holds the diadem, the crown and the wreath of Light. Then the Angel who holds the prize of victory stretches out to him the right hand and draws him out from the abyss of his body, and receives him with the Kiss and the Love. That Soul worships her savior who is the Light-Form. Now at the very moment when he dies, he perfects himself, and awakes in conformity with the Will of God in the House of the Living and the Celestial Beings, Angels, and all the Messengers and the Chosen Ones, and he receives the shining garland of glory in everlasting life and puts on the raiment of divinity.

Chapter 76. Individual Judgment
1. The Soul is sent to the Judge of the Dead and the Just seizes the confused Soul which appears as in a mirror. It is set down in the Balance its merit is apparent, its evil deed revealed; the deeds done by itself appear – the majesty of the Earth and Water is unhappy, the splendor of the Fire and Water (Greenlees suggests “water” should possibly be “air”) weeps, the brightness of Plants and Trees, wails aloud! On that day of danger no bribe or gift or pleading can avail; the Father’s Image, the Maiden of the Light, is the only one to help on that day! Those near the King are the Righteous.
2. If the Balance rises, his good deeds will overcome his sins committed and will raise him to the Garden of the Light uniting with the Column of Glory. Those indeed who are the doers of good, to them He rewards the good deed according to their goodness, He gives them the Kingdom of Light and makes them heirs in everlasting Life – they will be forgiven because they have forgiven others, but they will atone for every sin they have committed. Woe to it, the empty Ship that comes empty (without merit) to the Customs-House, they shall ask it when it has nothing to give! Woe to it because there is nothing on board! It shall be, to that one, roughly treated as it deserves, and sent back to rebirth – it shall suffer what corpses suffer!
3.”O Celestial Beings, to you I must appeal; all Celestial Beings, in pity take away the sins from me! Wipe away our iniquities, the scars that are branded on our Soul! We have seized upon our lightless Earth we have known and understood our Body and our Soul.” “Lift up your face, beloved, and look upon my face! See how I gaze at you with no evil look in my eyes as I stare at the sinner when he is brought to my judgment and found guilty! May you live for evermore!” “Hail righteous Judge, strong Power, the path of Truth, clear Mirror, separating the acquitted and the condemned! Clothe me in your Robe, Give me the Garland and the Prize! I have lived ever since I heard your sweet voice, O true Judge, O Glorious One!”

Chapter 77. Joy of the Freed Soul
1. My Lord, the joy of your sweet cry has made me forget life in the world, the sweetness of your voice has made me remember my City; I myself have again received the three holy Gifts which the three holy Angels extend to me; from Light-Mind (Vohumanah, Isho the Maiden of Light) and the Divine Teacher have come a fresh Garland, a new Diadem, and a shining Robe. I ran to my Judge; he set the garland of glory upon me, he put the prize of victory in my hand, he clothed me in the Robe of Light, exalted me over all my foes. See, joy has overtaken me through your Right Hand that came to me! Shlama lukh (Peace be unto you), O Celestial Beings, Angels of glory who are in the Land of Light! Henceforth, no longer shall I be Prisoner, a Slave!
2. I have found the Ships – the Ships are the Sun and the Moon – they have transported me to my City: I have found the Haven – the Haven is the Commandment! I have set my foot on the Path – and the Path is the Knowledge of God! Ferry me to the Sun and Moon, O Ferryboat of Light that rests over these three earths! Disperse the dark cloud that is before my eyes, that I may be able to cross to your honoured dwellings. I have attained to a level which has allowed me to see your Light, so I have no concern with the Darkness – therefore let no one weep for me; see, the Gates of Light have opened to me! I rejoice as I ascend to my Father with whom I have conquered in the land of darkness; O my great King, transport me to the City of the Angels – the Celestial Beings, take me into the homes of joy – for I am yours! Count into my hand the reward of many contests!
3. I rejoice, I rejoice for eternity of eternities! I worship you, O Father of the Lights, and I bless you, O Aeons of Joy, and my brothers and sisters from whom I have been far away and have found again once more! I have become a holy Bride (non-gender) in the quiet Bride chambers of the Light; I have received the gifts of the victory.

Chapter 78. Depart, O Manichaean Soul!
1. Victory and salutation, O busy Soul that has finished her fight and subdued the Ruling Power, the body and its passions! Today you are called to dwell with the Angels because you have left behind you the hunger and the thirst (unhealthy passions) of death. Hereafter you have become free of anxiety, for you have abandoned the house of care, the body of death, and have flung it before the face of its enemies. You have swiftly gone beyond the authority of the flesh, you have ascended like a swift bird into the Air of the Celestial Beings!
2. Your wares (merits) which you have produced, look, they have gone before you – a part of them following after you, a part of them overtaking you; rejoice then, being glad as you step before the Judge! He will appear to you with a face that is full of joy; he will also cleanse and purify you with his pleasant water of dew (immortality), he will set your foot on the Path of Truth and furnish you with your Light-Wings like an eagle becoming distant as it soars forth into its air! Go now aboard your Ships of Light and receive the Glorious Garland and the Gifts of Light from the Judge’s hand!
3. Look, the Ship has put in for you: Noah is aboard, he is steering – the Ship is the Commandment, Noah is the Light-Mind, he who comes and puts on the Saints. Embark your wares, sail with the spirit of immortality; return to your kingdom and rejoice with all the Aeons and rest yourself! Your Defence is Mashikha, for he will welcome you to His Kingdom, he will bring you to the haven of peace!
4. Walk on rejoicing; today your sufferings have passed. See, you have moored to the harbour of peace! Now shall you have your fill of the joyous Image of Mashikha, so go your way victoriously to your Light-City! You are glad that you have mingled with the holy Angels, on you is set the seal of your glorious purity! You are happy that you have seen your Divine Brethren in the celestial heights with whom you shall dwell in the Light for evermore. You have reached your Light-Suburb wherein there is neither hunger nor thirst; implore your Father for some grace upon us; do not leave us to be desolate!

Chapter 79. Isho Takes Her Home
1. The Ship of Isho has come to port laden with garlands and decorative palms; it is Isho who steers it, he will put it in for us till we embark; it is the Saints whom he takes on, the Virgins whom he without doubt accommodates. Let us make ourselves holy also that we may make our voyage to the Air. The Ship of Isho will makes its way up on high, it will add its cargo to the shore, and return for those who remain behind; the Ship will take them also and bring them home to the Haven of the Immortals.
2. How great a lover of men are you, O Isho, the First Rose of the Father! How gentle are you, my true Bridegroom! O Mashikha of the Bride chambers of the Light! I worship you, O Image of my Master which I have loved before I ever saw it, but because of its fame whereof I heard, I kept careful observance of my being holy that I might be worthy of it! Draw now the veil of your secrets until I see the beauty of the Joyous Image of my Mother, the holy Maiden who shall sail with me until she brings me to my City! Embark me on the Ship of the Saints, let them put in quickly for my Soul!

Chapter 80. The Land of Light
1. My Father, the Glorious One, the Glad Light, the glad and blessed Light, self-existent, eternal, miraculous! No height or dimension forms a limit and measure where all is Light and no place is dark, where all the Buddhas (Illumined Ones) and the Messenger of Light reside; it is in brief the Home of the Adorable of the Light (Ch. the Venerable of the Light of the pure Light-World)! In height it is beyond reach, nor can its depth be perceived; there Light is omnipresent, and all is clean and pure, eternally happy, calm and quiet; no enemy and no one who causes injury walk this Land!
2. In the unsurpassed World of Light, the many lands of subtle and wondrous nature are like grains of sand in number. These many countries have precious diamond soil, radiating light downwards from the dim past until now and to everlasting time with countless miraculous hues illuminating one another. The divine pavement of that world is of a diamond substance that does not shake for ever; whoever is permitted to live in that land will be eternally free from every care and sorrow.
3. In that land are spacious gardens and parks, stately and clean, without dust or screen, broken tiles and gravel, brambles, thorns, and all unclean weeds; the country is rich and fertile. All good things are born from it: adorned graceful hills wholly covered with flowers most excellently grown, and green fruit bearing trees whose fruits never drop, never decay, and never become infested with worms. A strange unique fragrance, spreading like a vapour, pervades the whole world, and the wonder of perfumes is perfected when the Saintly masses (the redeemed ones) walk about. In this realm all glorious blossoms may be gathered; floral crowns are verdant, nor ever fade or fall. Fountains flow ambrosia that fills the whole of Bahisht (Paradise), its groves and plains. From a hundred streams, rivers, seas, and fountainheads the deep and clear Waters of Life are all fragrant and wonderful, tasting like a veritable nectar; in them one will neither drift away nor drown.
4. The Saints live safely and are always happy; they go to the heaven of Light where the Celestial Beings dwell, and are at peace. They receive as their nature the original Splendor of the radiant Palace, and are joyful; they put on the Shining Robe, and live forever in Bahisht. They are calm in quietude and know nothing of fear. They live in the light where they have no darkness, in endless Life where they have no death, in Health without sickness, in Joy without sorrow, in Charity without dislike, in the company of friends where they have no separation. They are fully fed without want, on unlimited ambrosial food, wherefore they bear no toil or hardship; their foods are all like sweet dew, manna of the Land of Light, our Resplendent City, the home of the blessed ones, countless mansions, and palaces, thrones and seats that remain perpetually forever and ever, trees of fragrance, fountains filled with life, all the holy mountains and the trees that are Green with Life!
5. Those Saints are pure, humble and ever joyful in body, in an incorruptible shape, in a divine body where there is no destruction; in appearance they are lovely, in strength powerful, light, ever clean and pure; free from weariness, their diamond frames need no sleep, never becoming feeble and old; very subtle and wonderful, their brightness never darkness. Light shines on them and their bodies become splendid and translucent; light is within and without, radiating great brilliance, limitless in extent forever more. Their robe of joy is a finery that is never soiled, set with jewels of seventy myriad kinds. All the glorious clothes they wear are delightful, not fashioned with the work of hands, fresh and clean, uncorrupted despite much wear. Their crowns, with ornaments of hanging jewels, can never perish, nor be taken from whoever has once put them on.
6. Their wondrous bodies roam in many temples, wherever they may desire; whoever wanders freely, all is peaceful and smooth! There are no temples or halls, palaces or cells were built by hands, and yet they are strong; no craftsman was needed, they were instantly completed by the Law. Wonderful breezes, blowing and waving, are all delicious, mild and pleasant, spreading all around in the ten directions, gently touching the jeweled towers and pavilions, and constantly moving the lovely bells, small and big, to music.
7. Ever honest and true are the minds and thoughts of the Saints, enlightened and with wondrous kindness, freely enjoying the spiritual body and mind in the sweetly scented air and counting neither years nor months, nor hours and days, being void of birth and death and mundane love. All who live there are unstained by ignorance, passion and desire; how can they be pressed or hurried by rebirth? They relax in mind and move at will unhindered more swiftly than the wind, for they are not as heavy as a feather. By nature they are not forgetful and short of memory, but they totally see everything in the boundless world as if looking in a bright mirror. Merciful and generous, they exchange sympathy; they are of one mind, harmonious. In response, Saints appear in the ten directions unchecked; every thought and feeling reached, and all intentions of mind, are mutually shown and seen. They are all in agreement and concord, rejoicing and being glad in the Glory, filled and abiding in everlastingness.

Странный и бесподобный аромат, как пар, проникает везде, и становится еще более совершенным, когда святые идут по саду. Они получают по природе подлинное сияние сверкающего дворца, и радуются; они одеваются в сияющие одежды, и вечно живут в раю. Они в тишине и покое и не знают страха. Они живут во свете, в котором не видят тьмы, в бесконечной жизни, и не видят смерти, в здоровье без болезни, в радости без печали, в милосердии без отвращения, в собрании друзей, в котором нет разделения. Они всегда накормлены бесконечной амброзией, и поэтому не имеют тяжести и трудности. Всегда честны и истины умы и мысли святых, просвещенных чудесной добротой, свободно наслаждающихся духовным телом и умом в сладко пахнущем воздухе и не считают они ни годов, ни месяцев, ни часов, ни дней, свободные от рождения и смерти и земной любви. Все, кто живет там, незапятнанны глупостью, страстью и желанием; как могут они быть обеспокоены перерождением? Они расслаблены в разуме и передвигаются без препятствий быстрее ветра, ведь они легче перышка. По природе они ничего не забывают и не пропускают, но полностью видят все в бесконечном мире, как будто смотрят в ясное зеркало. Милосердные и щедрые, они выражают друг другу симпатию; они имеют один гармоничный разум. Chapter 81. The Triumph of a Holy Death
1. Who can see, my brothers, and return to earth and make known to all men the glory I have received today? For I have found the reward of my toil! See, I have brought my Ship to the shore; no storm has risen against it, no wave has snatched it away! I was about to be shipwrecked before I found the Ship of Truth; a divine tacking was Isho, who has given me his hand. Who then shall be able to tell of the Gift that came? A grace overtook me, but there is no one who can say it. (DG marg. “an unspeakable grace overtook me”)
2. I have left the garment (material body) on the earth, the senility of diseases that I had; I have put upon me the Immortal Robe. I have taken my washed clothes, my robes that do not grow old; I have rejoiced in their gladness, and have rested in their rest.
3. O Saints, rejoice with me, for I have returned again to my Source (DG marg. “my beginning”), the Path of Light has stretched for me, right up to my first City, it has victoriously given me into the hands of the Angels, and they have escorted me to my Kingdom. See, the Light of the Maiden has shone on me, the glorious likeness of the Truth, and her three grace-giving Angels. The gates of the skies have opened before me through the rays of my Saviour and his glorious Light-Image! Isho, my Bridegroom, has welcomed me to his bride chamber, and I have rested with him in the Land of the Immortals; my brothers, I have received my garland! O excellent pain that I have suffered! O my end which has had so happy an issue! O my everlasting possession!

Chapter 82. The End is Near
1. The time draws near when the Light-Body shall be freed from its chains, the forces of Light and Darkness will be separated evermore, and so will the doers of good and their evil foes. The universe – heaven and earth, and the countless dense and close things – will be properly dissolved and freed by the pitiful Adorable One; the demon races will be put into the dark prison forever, and the Race of the Illumined (Buddha Family) will leap for joy, and return to the Realm of Light. Then shall the light go to the Light, while darkness shall fall and henceforth never rise again; it shall be blotted from its place.

Chapter 83. The Last Statue
1. At the time when all the Light in the universe has been purified and refined, Isho the Child, who is the Image of the Living Word (Miltha) in his two persons, who is the Call and the Hearing that lie in the Elements which are mingled – it is he who makes a separation between the good and the bad.
2. Again at the end he joined with them, he stood up in silence, he drew up the Light-Sparks until the final moment when he should awake and stand in the Great Fire, and gather his own Soul (all the redeemed reunited with and in him) to himself and form himself into this Last Statue (DG marg. “a technical term for the perfect Image of God to be revealed at the End”), which is the last Hour of the Day, the time when the Last Statue will go up to the Aeon of the Light.
3. And you shall find him purging and refining out of himself this impurity which is foreign to him, but the Light and the Life that are in everything he gathers in to himself and builds it upon his body. When this Last Statue is complete in all its Limbs, then it shall emerge and come down in that great struggle through the Living Spirit, its Father.

Chapter 84. Perfect Justice will Prevail
1. The great Judge who sits in the Air, judging all men, his tent is set up in the Air under the Great Wheel of the Stars – there is no partiality in his law, no turning in his righteousness. He knows how to forgive the one who has sinned and repented, but he has no dealings with a false one who may come to his feet and implore him – he does not forgive the one who is of two minds.
2. No one will be able to hide from him when he searches out the deeds that each one has done and repays them according to their deserts, so he who has something good, let him put his trust in his deeds! Let us not neglect ourselves and keep to our own regret.

Chapter 85. Signs of the End
1. You see how near it has come to the end of the world; the lifetime of humankind has come to a fraction, their days have decreased, their years have become fewer, for the Life and the Light that were in the world in the first generations were more than that of today. Those who are born today in these last generations are small and stunted in lifetime, and they are also born, each one in a single womb, scarcely two or less or more, while they are also ugly in their appearance, small in their size, and weak in their limbs. Their ideas and thoughts are filled with wickedness; in old age they spend their lifetime with sufferings, also death comes to them swiftly.
2. When that immortal Light is led up to the Celestial Beings, then will both the zenith and the nadir of heaven be brought together, for the Custody of Splendor (Pahragbed) will seize the topmost heaven, which exactly matches the lowest, and it will become loosened from bond and order. Then will the Lord Mithra (the Third Messenger) come from the Vehicle of the Sun to the combined region, and a Shout will be raised, and in the Moon and in the Zodiac and the Stars a great Sign will become manifest and the whole world will receive the news simultaneously. And after this, will come the God of the Realm of Wisdom, he who is First Knowledge, and just because of the sorrow upon sorrow and the distress upon distress he will send down Wisdom and Knowledge.
3. Then will appear the Kingdom of the God of Wisdom; the Celestial Beings who are in all the regions of the heavens and the earths – the Supporter, the Light-Adamas, the Glorious King, the King of Honor and the Custody of Splendor – and who are revilers of the demons, will bestow a blessing on that Realm of Wisdom, and the righteous will become Rulers in the Kingdom. They shall themselves see him, the Image of the Light, all rejoicing and being glad over him. Desire shall depart far from them with also the other kinds of temptation. When they wish they shall clothe themselves with their body and gain victory over it, and they shall find the way from it to the Kingdom of Life made smooth. They will pay homage and receive him with joy; but the man who is a worker of greed, along with the evildoers and those who corrupt humankind will be filled with remorse.

Ты увидишь, когда приблизится конец света; время жизни людей станет как крупинка, их дни уменьшатся, их годы станут меньше, потому что жизнь и свет, которые были в мире в первых поколениях - больше, чем сегодня. Те, кто рождается сейчас в этих последних поколениях - маленькие и чахлые по жизни, и рождаются каждый в одной утробе, редко два или меньше или больше, и все они уродливые, маленькие и слабые. Их мысли и идеи - злобные; в старости они страдают, и к ним быстро приходит смерть.

3. Chapter 86. The Universal Judgment
1. And then the God of the Realm of Wisdom will send Messengers to the East and to the West; they will go and gather humankind – the Helpers and also the Hearers; while the evildoers, with those of like malice, will come before the Lord of Wisdom. Moreover, the demons will go into his presence, offer homage and carry out his command. They will rush in and speak thus: “We are imitators of our gods, and everyone believes in this doctrine that we taught mankind, but they will go on in the love of evildoing!” Further, an Elect one who discontinues to believe in the Religion of Light, he too will sell himself to the gods of the demons. At that time, when things in the world become like this, the Righteous and the Pretenders alike will be arraigned both on earth and in heaven.
2. Then the Righteous shall say: “O our Lord, if we have hidden anything we shall say it now in your presence!” To them the God of the Realm of Wisdom (Isho) shall make this answer, “Gaze upon me and be happy, my brothers and my limbs! For hungry and thirsty was I and you gave me food and drink, I had become naked and I was clothed by you, bound was I and was freed by you; I was caught and I was released by you, and I became a stranger and homeless but I was taken by you into the house.” Thereon, they, the Righteous and the Helpers shall prostrate and then speak thus: “O Lord, you are a God and an Immortal whom neither greed nor desire can vanquish, whom becomes neither hungry nor thirsty and on you, distress never comes. When was it that we performed this service?” Then shall the Lord say to them, “Whatever you have done you have done to me; to you I shall give the reward of Bahisht!” He shall give them great joy. Those whom he has called to the Kingdom of Light, his Righteous and his Virgins, he has made them like Angels.
3. The Goats who stand at his left hand shall see the Hope that he has given to those on his right; their heart shall rejoice for a moment, while they think that the victory of the Sheep will come to them also. Then he shall turn to those who stand to the left, and speak and say to them: “Away from me, accursed ones! Go to the Fire made for the Adversary (evil one) and his Powers, for I have hungered and thirsted, but never has one of you given help to me!” He will then put Angels in charge of the sinners and they will take them into keeping and throw them into hell. As for Death, the Enemy, he will enter the chain of the dungeon of the souls of the deniers and blasphemers who have loved the Darkness, and there shall be dark night on them.

1. И затем бог царства разума пошлет посланников на восток и на запад; они придут и соберут людей - монахов и также слушателей; а злые, со всеми, кто любит зло, придут к господину разума. И даже черти придут к нему, воздадут честь и выполнят его приказ. Они бросятся к нему и скажут так: “Мы изображали своих богов, и все верят в это учение, которому мы учили людей, и все они продолжат любить делать зло”. И даже всякий монах, который перестает следовать учению света, он продаст себя богам чертей. В это время, когда в мире все это произойдет, праведные и те, кто хочет ими быть, будут судимы на земле и на небе.
2. И тогда праведные скажут: “Господи, если мы что-то скрыли, мы скажем это сейчас в твоем присутствии”. И бог царства разума ответит им: “Посмотрите на меня и будьте счастливы, братья мои и части мои. Ведь я был голоден и жаждал, и вы дали мне питье и еду, я был голым и вы меня одели, я был связан и вы меня освободили; я был схвачен и был вами спасен, и я стал странником и бомжом, но вы взяли меня в дом”. И тогда эти праведные и монахи падут пред ним и скажут: “Господи, ты - бог, и ты - бессмертный, которого не может победить никакое желание, и ты не бываешь ни голодным, ни жаждущим, и к тебе не приходит никакое горе. Когда же мы смогли так послужить тебе?” И Господь скажет им: “что вы сделали, вы сделали мне; и вам я дам райскую награду”. Он даст им великую радость. Те, кого он призвал к царству света, праведные его и монахи его, он сделает их подобными ангелам.
3. И те козлы позорные, которые стоят по его левую руку, увидят надежду, которую он дал тем, кто справа; сердце их на немного обрадуется, потому что они подумают, что победа монахов и к ним тоже придет. Тогда он повернется к тем, кто стоит слева и заговорит, и скажет им так: “Отойдите от меня, проклятые. Идите в огонь, сделанный для сатаны и его архонтов, ведь я был голоден и жаждал, но никто из вас не помог мне”. И он скажет ангелам заняться грешниками, и они возьмут их в тюрьму и бросят их в ад. А Смерть, враг наш, войдет в цепь подземелья душ отрицателей, богохульников, которые любили тьму, и на них будет темная ночь24.
Chapter 87. The Fate of the Wicked
1. God too is a Judge of the Souls who obey the Adversary and do what is evil, not believing in the Truth, and He condemns them through their deeds, because they are cut off and excluded from the Last Statue (the uniting of all perfected souls in the Great and Perfect One) when the universe shall be dissolved and all things destroyed, and the Great Fire be let loose and the Last Statue be formed out of the remains of all things. The souls of the deniers and blasphemers shall weep when the Last Statue comes down therein; then shall they cry aloud that they are cut off from the company of this Great Statue and remain behind forever. For from this time there is no rest for them who shall go in to this Darkness and be chained with the Darkness as they have desired and loved, and put their treasure in its keeping.
2. He does not take them to Himself at their end, but they become the portion of the Enemy whom they have loved. God Himself has not done them any wrong, but it is themselves alone who are against them; it is their own actions which condemn them and throw them to the hell of burning; the wicked justly come to hell through the wickedness of the venomous beast and through the disease of pollution.
3. The Light shall withdraw to its place and ascend and reign in its Kingdom, while the Darkness falls and is taken into the Grave with all its offspring, and they shall be chained with it, binding with them the Darkness, the Enemy, who has lifted himself up against the Light from the beginning. The souls of all the sinners who have been condemned through their deeds are fastened to the Enemy in the Grave – its masculine and feminine; the masculine shall be parted from the feminine and bound in the Lump. This final shall be densified when all forms and images are included in it; the Globe shall sink down by its own weight to the Abyss, the Abyss will also sink down to eternity of eternities; whereas the feminine shall be thrown into the Grave.
4. The Light shall be purified and separated from the Darkness by means of the Great Fire wherein the universe will be dissolved and all things be destroyed, and perish in that violent greedy and poisoned fire which shall burn them in fourteen hundred and sixty eight years.
