is pleased to dedicate this wonderful new translation to the memory
Dr. MORRIS SHLANSKY, z’l
Born in Russia, he emigrated as a young man to the United States where he became a physician in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn. A true humanitarian, scholar of Jewish history and literature and an active supporter of Jewish life worldwide, for decades Dr. Shlansky traveled almost annually to Israel where he would help the needy, before returning to America with empty suitcases and no overcoat having given away almost all of his clothing and possessions to impoverished Jews in EretzYisrael.
At nearly 90 years of age, he and his wife made Aliyah to Israel to take part in building the Jewish nation, and to forge a new life.
He is lovingly remembered as a role model, mentor, and friend by our Trustee, for whom Dr. Shlansky s devotion to Mitzvot and to the Jewish people remains an ongoing inspiration.
