JAMES H. BILLINGTON

James H. Billington was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in 1929. He received his B.A. (summa cum laude in European history) from Princeton University and a D.Phil. in modern European history from Balliol College, Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He has taught at Harvard and Princeton. He is currently the Librarian of Congress.
